Event: GOODS DEPT 2012

The Goods Dept; We Dream in Technicolor presenting SoepShop, Bycatch X S.R.W and NIKICIO: Femme 2012


Plaza Indonesia turned out their multifunction hall with an exhilarating intimate fashion show, with unusual-for-fashion-show gold tiny chairs. Plus score for the waiting room, a little comfort but adorable room with some fancy sofas with color block wall, I enjoying myself with a magazine along with a cheese canapés and a glass of wine.


The show itself begin sharp at 6.30PM ready or not. Fortunately, a chaperone placed me in the front row area, pretty close with the models pass away. Master of Ceremony began the show, played a video about SoepShop designed by Riyam Soepardi. Interesting video, just like Adam and Eve in the wondrous forest. The fashion show began, SoepShop with lots of drapery, clean cutting for men, stripped mod dress until Kelly Tandiono close the show with layered slouchy maxi dress and big bird head accessory.

Second show is Bycatch X S.R.W, preppy pastel geekish is the keys. The designer herself, Syagini Ratna Wulan, paired those pretty pale pastel attire with old books, frilly white socks and Doc Martens.

 Dang! NIKICIO Femme just arrived to town! Nina, Nina, Nina… who’s the boy made you fell in love such this pretty? Satinish flowers, shocking sheer and Doc Martens for the finishing looks. I personally in love with the square clutch. This is a love song…

To be mentioned, applause please for The Goods Dept awesome team including the nicest men Chris Kerrigan, Plaza Indonesia, Nina Nikicio whom give me this opportunity and all the amazing designers and quirky creatures called the models. Humble mentioned for Darrell Ferhostan and that ‘Alek Wek’ look-alike model. Love.

Event: MAZDA STYLE PARADE 2012

Bunch of thanks for Marie Claire Indonesia, Elle Magazine Indonesia and also Elle Decoration which giving me a slot for watching their annual fashion show with MAZDA. Unlike the past year which held in Gandaria City. This time, they’re held the show in Senayan City, three-days-full event. Missed the shows? Want to know what its taste to be a front-row fashion show along with those superficial fancy MAZDA’s cars? Catch our contributors live and upclose.

DAY ONE; KLe, Major Minor and ISIS

Kleting Titis Wigati is one of my favorite designers. Her daring aura always bought us a simple yet edgy collection with salmon pink, turquoise and crème. Ah, don’t forget the super wedges!

Major Minor is so monochromatic edgy! Who says that black and white is so boring? Sure I’m not agree, this is quirky way to impress us.

Andrea Risjad known as the packed of talented mother and also designer. ISIS which a clothing line that she projected with her friend bought us a fierce red paired with blue-ish. This is just too different with their collection in Jakarta Fashion Week whereas more boyish and army style. But ISIS never fails us, those edgy pieces is salute!

DAY TWO; Sapto Djokokartiko, Andreas Odang and Auguste Soesastro

Sapto Djokokartiko always now how to impress us badly. His alienate glittering eyebrows, romantic ruffles and mermaid tail dresses. Ah, I love you bad, Sapto!

Satin dress as Andreas Odang first face is got our attention instantly! But he calmed us down with his drapery laces black and pink lads dresses.

Don’t ever think this is just another black Saturday, black is the new bright rules for Auguste Soesastro. Simple cutting big impact is his keys. Cool is just another statement for this.

Event: INDONESIA FASHION WEEK 2012, Day Two

I hurry myself, I’m gonna be late! 2.30 PM and I’m still in the cab dealing with Jakarta bad traffic. I’m begging to God, hope they’re late too.

But God is great, the show are pretty late until 30 minutes more. Sit down in a row gracefully between a British reporter and his African women. The advertisements way too possy, Dulux and also another companies has been played like 6 or 7 ads with long duration.

A bored opening, yes. But the wait is over when the master of ceremony take over the show. Pretty excited to see those young and talented designers with their dazzling collection.

Prepare my best and comfy sitting pose, exciting smiles, Twitter and camera; ON!

I’m so ready to explode.

YOSAFAT

Yosafat opening the show. The first look is a silk sheer shirt with a textured peplum grey skirt. I knew Yosafat, he always put grey, silver and earth-tones in his collection. And glad to see him put some leather this time.

ALBERT YANUAR

The second show is Albert Yanuar. Everybody’s knew that he’s the master of cocktail gowns, playful mixture mini-dress with strong lines. He bring them back now. He open the show with orange dress with cute tutu and very bold make-up.

I think the make-up were inspired by Betsey Johnson’s runway, might be. What I call dazzling is when the quirky bride came up, with long-tailed detailed white gown and rainbow bouquet. The show end when the Albert showed up with two kids channeling as a bridesmaids.

             

JEFFRY TAN

I admit myself. This third show was exciting. Hot male models came-up with colorful summer ready-to-wear clothes. Jeffry Tan braces yourself with those shocking colors. Paired with high-cut glowing sneakers and some tattoos. In the end, the promising androgynous model known Darell Ferhosten with his long black hair came up with red hood. He’s so gorgeous!

IMELDA KARTINI

Unlike her past collection, which more to haute couture with touch of her quirkiness, this young and pretty designer, Imelda Kartini traveled us to her other bold version. Ropes, textured sweater, strong shawls. Her new wearable line, Bretzel inspires us. She never leaves her identity by bring those ready-to-wear pieces with her trademark, extreme quirkiness.

NINA NIKICIO

Honestly, this is the most awaited performance so far for me. Nina Nikicio, we always know her effortless cutting, bold pants, textured shirts. But, I never think that fall in love would be this beautiful when I saw her FEMME: Summer 2012 ad campaign, oh-so-sweet. And this IFW moment, no she doesn’t bring those romantic scene. But she absolutely makes us in love to her line even twice. Who the hell ain’t happy if saw that boyish attire paired with shocking Doc Martens? Oh please… we’re in love.
